Stopping Traffic

This dress from Harmony Lane boutique in Los Angeles actually caught the eye of my own mother before I even noticed it, and she immediately called it a "Lorraine" dress. Meaning, of course, that this is precisely the type of dress that I would not only wear, but run out and purchase probably before I'd put gas in a car that was running on E.

These days, what with my packed closet, a recession that is haunting all of our consciences, and gas prices that are still disconcerting, I would say that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I definitely know that red is my color, it looks great with my tanned skin, and it's a dress I'd love to wear...especially the next time I know I'll be running into a man who's caught my eye...because in this dress? You'll not only catch eyes, you'll stop traffic.

www.shopharmonylane.com to purchase your own dress, this was is Fighting Eel Iris Tube Dress, worn by stars like Kristin Cavallari and Eva Longoria Parker.

In Love with Love Quotes. Quote Me.

I am a huge fan of scarves. I wear them all winter long, every morning, because I absolutely hate being cold. I look like a little darling, walking into work in my beautiful peacoats, an elegant scarf tucked in just so, my long locks shaped into curls and cascading over my shoulders. I wear gloves so that my hands stay looking fab even in the cold winter months, and I have no problem layering under my jackets.

And I live in Arizona.

Pathetic, I know.

For someone who doesn't mind dressing like she's about to go skating at Rockefeller Center, even when the temperature is seldom below 40 degrees, scarves are a must-have staple that are organized painstakingly in one of my dresser drawers, according to color, texture, and style.

So it's no wonder I love Lauren's look in this photo; she of course is sporting a scarf by Love Quotes, which is the brand most celebs have been buying these days. They remind me of running through airports, waiting for flights and acting as though the paparrazzos are actually interested in where I'm going.

Yes, I wanted to be a Hollywood starlet, my ENTIRE life.

Dare to dream, LC, dare to dream.

For the rest of us civilians...pick up Love Quotes scarves at specialty boutiques, like Intuition (shopintuition.com) or Harmony Lane Boutique (shopharmonylane.com.)

In Perfect Harmony

Initially, I'll admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of online shopping. Browsing through boutiques and spending lots of quality time at Nordstrom and Neimans and Target (yes, I am a Target lover) is another way of burning calories for me. Shopping is my cardio. Not to mention, it's therapeutic. But, give me a deal, show me a coupon I can use, and I'm so there.

Since I started online shopping, I have grown to love receiving packages in the mail. (It helps that our UPS guy is easy on the eyes.) Everytime I can rip open a new delivery, it feels like Christmas morning, in the middle of July. On top of that sheer bliss, I've also discovered plenty of super cool websites where you can not only buy the latest & greatest, but look at photos of celebs who've probably been styled by a professional, & that helps give some inspiration, too, when putting together different looks for yourself.

From time to time, I'll feature a boutique that also has an online store, so if you are not close to LA or planning a trip out there soon, you can still shop there, from the comfort of your couch (or bed, or office, or strip club dressing room, wherever it is that you people work a 9-5.)

Check out www.shopharmonylane.com to get all the latest from designers who have major celebrity following. They carry everyone from Plenty by Tracey Reese, comfy staples from C&C California (love that label!) and great jeans from lines like Antik Denim, Genetic Denim, Earnest Sewn and William Rast.

And try to neglect the fact that Paris Hilton shops here. I mean, you can't hold that against Harmony Lane, even young women who dress like cheap pole dancing trash need a place to shop, too.

Have fun shopping, lovers! ;)
